Aerocom’s PTFE hose and PTFE hose assemblies are what’s required for those especially challenging fluid connector environments. If your application is too hot or cold (even including cryogenic) or too corrosive for metal or rubber hose assemblies, Aerocom can support you in finding the best PTFE hose for your particular application (and the PTFE fittings too). We offer several types of smoothbore hose for various pressures, up to 6000psi! If flexibility is your priority, then our convoluted or our open-pitch convoluted hose would be a better fit. These are less prone to kinking and are available in conductive and non-conductive versions. Our fittings are specifically designed for each type of hose and are available in NPT, JIC and a wide variety of other threads.
We can also fabricate custom PTFE hose assemblies which will meet the specifications of your challenging environments. Every hose assembly is hydrostatically tested in-house prior to shipping to ensure they meet your requirements !
Stainless steel is inert to practically all commercial chemicals, acids, alcohols, coolants, elastomers, petroleum compounds, solvents vinyl’s, synthetic lubricants and hydraulic fluids. It is also impervious to atmospheric conditions. It will therefore not rust or deteriorate over time even in challenging environments and most importantly will not break down and contaminate the application material, fluid or gas.
Stainless steel 316 has been approved by the FDA and other governmental organizations for use in food handling and pharmaceutical applications. Stainless steel 316 is more resistant than 304 to salt (which is found in most foods). It is easy to clean and sterilize which makes it the perfect material for these applications.
Stainless Steel 316L is the standard material for our adapters and hose couplings. We can also provide our flexible metal hose assemblies with SS316 braid and hose. We have selected this material because of its combined chemical and mechanical properties that make it the best material for your specialized applications.
Ultra high pressure 5000 psi hose constructed with an extruded smooth bore inner-core of carbon black static dissipative PTFE with a single stainless steel 304 wire braid reinforcement layer. This sturdy PTFE hose resists kinking and has a tight bend radius.
Ultra high pressure 6000 psi PTFE hose constructed with an extruded smooth bore inner-core of carbon black static dissipative PTFE with layers of spiral wrap between two layers of stainless steel 304 wire braid reinforcements which makes this hose the pinnacle in extremely high-pressure applications.
Smoothbore hose which is constructed of an extruded inner-core of virgin PTFE (standard) or carbon black dissipative PTFE with stainless steel 304 wire braid reinforcement. It meets the requirements of SAE100R14.
Abrasion resistant rubber (EPDM) covered PTFE smooth bore hose with horizontal fabric braid reinforcement. The double steel wire helix supports the shape (especially in full vacuum service applications), prevents kinking and provides a double grounding path to release any built-up electrical charge.
Open Pitch convoluted PTFE hose with stainless steel 304 wire braid reinforcement. Its innovative spiral convolution design allows for increased flow rates, self-draining, greater hose flexibility and reduced kinking.
Super flexible convoluted PTFE hose with white, non-conductive PTFE line (or black conductive), externally reinforced with PTFE impregnated fiberglass tape in a single stainless steel wire braid layer. For high pressure with a very tight bend radius applications.
Convoluted PTFE hose with polypropylene braid for use where hose flexibility is required but stainless steel braid is unsuitable or saltwater or chlorinated solvent environments. It has a white (or black) PTFE helical, convoluted tube reinforced with polypropylene over braid.
Medium pressure smooth bore hose fittings which can be swaged or crimped. Easy to use fitting and collar design which can be attached to 0.030” and 0.040” wall.
Aerocom’s SK11 series PTFE fittings series are a 2-piece (insert and collar) design which can be swaged or crimped onto our convoluted and open-pitch PTFE hose. Available in SS316.
Our stainless steel tube fittings are more commonly called JICs. Our SAE J514 parallel threaded tube adapters (37° flare seating surface) are, in many cases, better suited for higher pressure fitting applications. We offer JICs in stainless steel caps, plugs elbows, tees, crosses, straights, and bulkhead adapters.
O-ring adapters, also known as ORB or SAE adapters, have parallel threads which seal with the o-ring on the chamfer of the mating part. We offer our ORB fittings in stainless steel 316L in straight, elbows, plugs, adjustables, tees, as well as converting to other threads (such as JIC or NPT) on the second end.
We offer SS316 NPT adapters in straight, elbows, caps, plugs, unions, bushings, expanders and reducers. We also offer NPSM ends with a 30° cone which seats on the 30° chamfer on our male NPT end. Unlike the stainless steel tube fittings, the NPT adapters seal on the tapered threads (and in some applications, with thread lubricant of some type).
Aerocom offers several types of protective hose coverings to help extend the service life of your PTFE and metallic hose assemblies.

Polytetrafluoroethylene, high performance flexible hose lined with Teflon-based material. Designed to handle extreme temperatures, high pressures, and corrosive chemicals.Blog
Depending on the size, type and temperature of the application, it can handle pressures up to 6000 psi
Designed to operate across a wide temperature range, from -60°C to 260°C (-76°F-500°F). The temperature does have an effect on the pressure rating of the hose.
Aerocom offers our C14 series of PTFE fittings which are available in JIC, NPTF as well as other threads. For particular applications, we sometimes use our 250 series with special collarsCheck out our fittings
PTFE in the form that is used in hose assemblies, does not degrade with time, so it has a near unlimited shelf life.
Certain alkali metals and fluorinating agents can damage PTFE. PTFE hose can also be damaged by kinking, improper fittings, improper handling during installation and electrostatic discharge.
PTFE is a high-performance plastic, not a rubber, often classified as thermoplastic polymer known for its non-stick properties, extreme chemical resistance, and very low friction.
Generally, for hydraulic hose, when we call out hose, we measure the Internal Diameter of the hose and that is the size that is required (so measure 1/4" ID, then -4 hose is what is ordered). However, with PTFE hose there are nominal sizes and trubore sizes. The hose fitting that fit in those hoses will match the called-out sizes, but the actual hose ID does not match. So, a -3 PTFE hose, actually has a 1/8” measured ID (so this is a nominal -3 hose). A – 4 PTFE hose actually has a 3/16” measured ID (so it is a nominal -4 hose). If you want an actual 1/4” ID hose, then you need a -5 PTFE hose which is a Trubore, which has 1/4" measured ID hose. Yes, this is sometimes very confusing, but the most important thing to remember when making assemblies, is that the -4 fittings will connect to -4, regardless of the size of the hose and it is the hose assembly and fitting manufacturers’ responsibility to make fittings (barb ends) that fit inside of each hose.
Smooth Bore: Features a smooth inner wall that delivers optimal flow characteristics and minimizes pressure drop. It is rigid, highly durable but limited flexibility. Convoluted: Features a corrugated /ribbed inner wall that provides a much tighter bend radius and excellent flexibility. Also, conductive and non-conductive which come in both smooth bore and convoluted, conductive is black due to the carbon coating that dissipates static. Non-conductive is white and won’t carry an electric charge.
